Battery Park City dog runs boost composting

There are a lot of dogs in New York City US! That means a lot of waste to clean up. Ryan Torres, VP of Park Operations and the crew at Battery Park City Authority's successful dog waste composting program are looking forward to its upcoming expansion!

Battery Park City Authority is using safe and finished dog waste compost from its three dog runs as a soil amendment for municipal landscaping.

Does the program encourage more pickups at the dog runs that offer composting? "We haven't measured it," said Bruno Pomponio, BCPA vice president, Parks Operations, "But yes, we've observed more pickups."
