Cambridge Park Spark was a temporary installation at Pacific Dog Park in Cambridge that attracted widespread attention when it was initiated by Matthew Mazzotti in 2010.  This compelling project transformed dog waste into energy (methane) through a publicly fed methane digester that  fueled a gaslight.

  Nantucket Nantucket accepts un-bagged pet waste as part of its community composting program (see Compostable Waste C at the linked site above).


Wachusett Watershed The watershed encompasses 538 square miles of land located in north central Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. In its brochure "Dog Waste and Surface Water Quality," the Wachusett Department of Conservation and Recreation says that one of the ways to help keep ground water clean is to flush un-bagged dog waste down the toilet.
